Stacy Keibler was born on October 14, 1979 in Baltimore, Maryland. At a very young age, Stacy began taking ballet, jazz and tap dancing classes. Her parents supported her in her interests. Her love for dancing, coupled with her good looks, pushed her to try out modeling and acting. She studied at the Catholic High School of Baltimore and attended Towson University where she studied mass communication. She maintained a 3.7 grade point average and was on a partial-scholarship while studying in the university. She worked as a physical therapist while studying at the university and by the time she was eighteen years old, she got her first big job as a cheerleader for the Baltimore Ravens football team. Her work as a cheerleader gave her the confidence to continue modeling and to appear in not-so-conservative publications, taking advantage of her good looks and super sexy legs.
She made another big step in her budding career when she entered and won the World Championship Wrestling (WCW) Nitro Girl Search. She defeated 300 other girls for a spot on the dance troupe. Her winning routine was watched by 4.4 million viewers, giving her more television exposure and making her more recognizable now that she has been seen by a massive audience. She initially performed dance routines as a member of the WCW Nitro Girls under the name Skye. She balanced her WCW routine with studying full-time and cheerleading for the Baltimore Ravens.
She became more popular as she accepted bigger roles in the wrestling scene. She played “Ms. Hancock”, a character regularly dressed in business suits but is known to dance sensually on top of the announcer’s table. More and more fans continued to admire this tall blonde as she introduced her trademark ring entrance: Slowly putting her forty-two inch legs through the second tier of ropes and pausing momentarily to let the crowd catch a glimpse of her underwear. She stands 5’11”, tall enough to be able to step over the middle of three ropes that surround the wrestling ring.
Stacy began an on and off-screen relationship with David Flair, the son of Ric “Nature Boy” Flair, and this led to her in-ring debut when she appeared at the Bash at the Beach event of WCW in a wedding gown match. The next event in Ms. Hancock’s storyline was to begin a feud with Kimberly Page but it ended prematurely when Kimberly left the company. The pair of Keibler and Flair then began an on-screen feud with the Misfits in Action group, which included a mud wrestling singles match against Major Gunns. She got kicked in the stomach during the match and revealed her supposed pregnancy the following night, beginning a new angle in her storyline with Flair. Fans were kept on their seats as the entertainers continued with their story. But Keibler revealed the pregnancy was false and broke up with David Flair. She was taken off television and when she returned, fans knew her by her real name.
In 2001, the World Championship Wrestling was purchased by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). Stacy’s contract was kept by the WWF management and she began her new life in show business as a character in The Alliance. She made her WWF television debut on an episode of SmackDown! on June 14, 2001. She originally teamed up with real-life friend Torrie Wilson. The tag team feuded with Divas Trish Stratus and Lita, two of the more famous female wrestlers at that time. The four Divas competed in the first ever Bra and Panties match at the InVasion pay-per-view. The match was won by Trish and Lita when they stripped their opponents.
Stacy also managed The Dudley Boyz during the WCW/ECW Invasion. She was nicknamed the “Duchess of Dudleyville”. During this time, she began an on-screen rivalry with former ally Torrie Wilson. Torrie defeated Kiebler in the first-ever lingerie match at No Mercy. Her role as manager of The Dudley Boyz came to an end when she accidentally cost the team to lose a match. Her storyline now involved setting her sights on the WWE Women’s Championship, facing Trish Stratus in several matches but never winning any of their encounters.
She came to the SmackDown! brand when her character showed an interest in becoming WWE Chairman Vince McMahon’s personal assistant. McMahon got Stacy for the job when she performed a sexy table dance for him. She also became her on-screen mistress, frequently getting involved in behind-the-scenes segments with the chairman, flirting and “making out” with him.
Her storyline took another dramatic turn when she left SmackDown! and transferred to Raw. She debuted at Raw on August 12, 2002. She managed Scott Steiner and Andrew “Test” Martin, her real-life boyfriend during that time. A jealousy angle was introduced in the storyline when Test got jealous because Stacy wanted to manage Steiner too. To make things more entertaining for the fans, Test and Stacy figured in a shouting match, with the former verbally abusing Stacy. Steiner then defeated Test for Keibler’s services, and she became Steiner’s official manager. She publicly showed that she was happy with Steiner and that they had more than a professional relationship. The storyline continued with Test reclaiming Keibler’s services and managing to put Steiner under his own wing as well. Steiner and Test also briefly became a tag team, with Keibler as their on-screen sex slave. The storyline ended when general manager Mick Foley freed Keibler from her contracts with the two wrestlers.
Because of her popularity with the fans, her career in wrestling continued to blossom. In 2004, she took over the Raw Diva Search for a few weeks. After several tag team matches against Gail Kim, Trish Stratus and Molly Holly, she earned a WWE Women’s Championship title match against Trish Stratus on October 11, 2004 but was defeated by Stratus. She also competed in the first-ever Fulfill your Fantasy Diva Battle Royal for the WWE Women’s Championship with Victoria, Nadia, Gail Kim, Molly Holly, Jazz and then-champion Trish Stratus.
She also appeared in backstage segments with Randy Orton. Orton challenged The Undertaker to a match at Wrestlemania 21, and he ended his relationship with Keibler at that time. He performed an RKO on her, demonstrating his ruthlessness in order to defeat The Undertaker. Stacy then joined the tag team of Rosey and The Hurricane, becoming known as “Super Stacy” complete with her own superhero costume. She was ringside during several matches as they defended their World Tag Team championship and feuded with Victoria at the same time, still on track with the ever-changing and turbulent on-screen storylines of the WWE.
She got traded back to SmackDown! along with fellow Diva Christy Hemme for Torrie Wilson and Candice Michelle. Back at SmackDown!, she participated in numerous lingerie and bikini matches. Her final match for WWE came on Velocity, when she fought with current rival Jillian Hall. She then begged off her wrestling career to appear on the show “Dancing with the Stars”, where she eventually won third place. She left WWE for good after completing her stint with “Dancing with the Stars” and moved on to other TV projects.
Along with her storied wrestling career, Stacy Keibler also wrote a monthly fitness column for men’s magazine Stuff. She also graced the magazine’s pages twice, appearing on the cover of the June 2005 and March 2006 issues of the popular publication. Maxim magazine has also recognized this tall beauty by naming her #5 in their 2006 Hot 100 issue and #70 in the following year’s edition. Playboy has also repeatedly approached the star to pose for them but Stacy has turned down the offers. She has also appeared in commercials for AT&T along with other television appearances such as MTV’s Punk’d and American Broadcasting Company (ABC)’s “What About Brian”. She has also appeared on “The George Lopez Show”, “The Comebacks” and ABC’s drama “October Road”.
